Ruzuku vs Kajabi 2024: Features, Pro, & Con Comparison

Ruzuku vs Kajabi Featured Image

Choosing the right online course platform is essential for creating and managing a successful course.

In this article, we’ll compare two great candidates: Ruzuku and Kajabi.

We’ll discuss why you should choose one over the other, their differences, and our thoughts on which software you should use.

Let’s get started!

Why Choose Kajabi Over Ruzuku

Kajabi New 2022 Home Page
  • Kajabi is a complete package. Besides creating online courses, you can use it to build a website, send emails to your leads, create an affiliate program, and so much more! It’s called an all-in-one platform for a good reason. Read our Kajabi review article for more details.
  • The drag-and-drop editor is available for most of Kajabi’s features. You can use it to create landing pages, beautiful emails, and online courses quickly.
  • Kajabi provides blueprints, templates, and themes for almost everything. They are a lifesaver for new creators and entrepreneurs with little design knowledge.

Why Choose Ruzuku Over Kajabi

  • Ruzuku allows you to create unlimited courses and accept unlimited students regardless of your plan.
  • Ruzuku offers Bootstrapper for only $99/month if you’re looking for an affordable basic plan.
  • Ruzuku’s highest plan offers access to multiple instructors and site managers. So if you’re planning to build an online school, this feature is a must-have.
  • Ruzuku has an online course daily backup. You don’t need to worry about losing your content or starting over.

Kajabi vs. Ruzuku: Key Features Comparison

Now that we know the advantages of each platform, it’s time to compare their features side by side.

User Interface

Both platforms have a clean and responsive interface.

You won’t find any unnecessary designs or complicated stuff inside your dashboard. However, one of them stands out.

Kajabi

Kajabi’s interface is more organized and stylish. The learning curve is shorter because the developers arranged the features into tabs and sections. They made it effortless to locate a specific function or tool.

kajabi interface

The search bar is another thing that I like about Kajabi. It’s not an ordinary search bar because it provides quick access to how-to guides besides directing you to features.

kajabi search bar

Ruzuku

Ruzuku’s interface is not bad either. Once you sign in, you’ll see your courses right away.

Also, the navigation menu is pretty neat and straightforward.

rukuzu interface

For instance, you can click your name to check your profile and billing. And to access Ruzuku’s customer support and resources, you just need to click “Support.”

However, unlike Kajabi, Ruzuku doesn’t have a powerful search bar, and its design is a little dated. It gave me the vibes of a platform from the early 2010s.

Online Course Creation and Delivery

These two platforms allow you to manage courses in one place easily. They have an organized dashboard, so editing or adding online course content is just a few clicks away.

Kajabi and Ruzuku let you add as many lessons or chapters as you want. There are no limits, and they offer unlimited bandwidth and data storage.

Regarding course delivery, both platforms have a global content delivery network (CDN.) So your students can safely access your courses anytime, anywhere.

Although most features are similar, there are still some differences you should keep in mind.

Kajabi

Kajabi provides blueprints for different types of online courses.

create a product

You can choose from a mini-course, whole course, or drip course. These guides are very beneficial because they make the entire course creation process faster.

Kajabi drip content is the counterpart of scheduled courses on Ruzuku. Although they are set up quite differently, they have the same function.

What you can’t do directly on Kajabi’s drip content is set a specific start date for the course access and the number of days before the lesson becomes available. On Ruzuku, you can do both of these in one place.

drip content

However, Kajabi has a better solution for that. You create an offer under the “Sales” tab. Then, set the start and the number of days the offer will be available.

Ruzuku

Ruzuku, on the other hand, doesn’t offer blueprints. It only has a simple text guide on the right side that contains the definition of course functions.

text

So it’s up to you to decide what goes in your course and how long it will be.

Creating an offer to combine your products isn’t available on Ruzuku either. You can only sell your courses separately.

On the good side, Ruzuku allows users to create unlimited courses. Something that Kajabi doesn’t offer.

You can only make three, 15, or 100, depending on your Kajabi plan. It might not be ideal if you’re planning to host more than 100 courses for your organization.

Other Digital Products

Offering other digital products is a huge advantage for course creators and online businesses.

It allows you to generate more revenue and keep your students engaged even after they finish your course.

For this feature, Kajabi provides more options. You can offer membership, community, podcasts, coaching programs, and events like video webinars. In contrast, you can only offer live webinars on Ruzuku.

Membership Sites

membership sites

You’ll need a membership site if you want to offer exclusive content in exchange for a monthly or yearly fee.

Kajabi has this feature available on its platform. You can create multiple memberships and add different resources for your members.

Some content you can offer to your members are:

  • On-demand videos
  • Articles
  • Podcasts and webinars
  • Digital downloads like eBooks, worksheets, checklists
  • White papers

You can also combine your membership site with other products like the community.

Community

community

Community allows your students to connect with other like-minded individuals, share their experiences, and learn from each other.

Kajabi offers a community feature in all its plans. Instead of creating a separate community on Facebook or another platform, you can keep everything under one roof.

It’s also safer and more exclusive because only students or members can access it. There are no outsiders or trolls who might disrupt the conversation.

Podcasts

Podcasts are also a great way to build authority and credibility in your niche. You’re likely to attract more people to your online business by providing valuable information.

Kajabi allows you to host your podcasts right on the platform. You can give it free or include it as a part of your offer.

Besides the easy creation of a new podcast, Kajabi also allows you to import your existing podcasts and choose your distribution channel in just a few steps.

Webinars

Both Kajabi and Ruzuku allow you to hold a live or recorded webinar. Both platforms also let you schedule emails for your participants to be sent as reminders.

The main difference is that you can host the webinar directly to Ruzuku. It also has a group chat where your students can discuss and answer your questions.

webinars

But for Kajabi, you’ll need a third-party tool to access live webinars and group chat like Zoom or Youtube Live.

Ruzuku can also accommodate more than 100 participants, but the video quality of the webinar might be affected.

Supported Multimedia Formats

Multimedia formats refer to the different content or materials you can use or upload inside your courses.

Both Kajabi and Ruzuku support various media content, so you won’t have any issues uploading them on these platforms.

Some content Kajabi accepts are:

  • Video formats (.mov, .mp4, .mpg, .flv, .asf, and more)
  • Audio (.mp3, .aac)
  • Pdf file (.pdf)
  • Images (.jpg, .png, .gif)
  • Text files (.rtf, .txt)
  • Microsoft files (.pptx, .doc, .xlsx)
  • Zip files (.zip)

In contrast, Ruzuku supports all types of files. I was surprised when it accepted the ones above and also other formats like .msi (Windows software) and .heic (image file).

Moreover, Ruzuku lets you take photos and record video or audio straight from the platform. It’s very convenient, but I’m not so sure if people will be willing to upload uncut videos for their students.

Student Engagement

Quizzes, Assessments, and Surveys

Assessments are great ways to measure the progress and understanding of your students.

Kajabi has an inbuilt quiz creation tool that’s very user-friendly. You can make different kinds of quizzes like multiple choices, true or false, and essays. Additionally, you can also upload a file for your students to answer.

student engagement

Ruzuku also has the same feature, but it’s basic.

A multiple choice quiz and poll are the only types available on the platform. If you need to make more advanced quizzes, you’ll need to use a third-party app, which can add to your expenses.

student progress tracker

Student Progress Tracker

Kajabi and Ruzuku have a progress tracker that allows you to see the course completion rate of your students.

This feature is essential to monitor the performance of your course and determine what areas need more improvement.

For example, if most of your students are stuck in a particular lesson, you can check the content and see if it needs to be more engaging.

It’s easy to locate your student’s data on these two platforms.

For Kajabi, you can find it inside the “Product Progress” under the “Analytics” tab. You’ll need to choose the course or product, then Kajabi will show you the student’s list, progress, number of logins, and the date they’ve started.

For Ruzuku, you can click on your course. Then under the “Student” column, click “Progress.” That’s it.

Website Hosting and Design

Having your own website is an excellent factor if you want to build credibility and authority in your niche. It gives you more control of how you want your brand to be seen by your target audience.

All Kajabi plans include a web hosting service and page creation. That means you can build your own website without worrying about additional fees.

webhosting and design

What’s more, is that it provides premium templates that are stylish and highly responsive. They are customizable too, and you can change the colors, content, and images to create your dream website.

drag and drop landing page

Ruzuku, on the other hand, doesn’t have an inbuilt website creation tool. You’ll need to use a third-party app like WordPress or Weebly to create your site and then embed your courses there.

Marketing Tools

Although it’s a big step, it’s not enough to just create courses. You need to do online marketing to reach your target students and sell online courses better.

Both platforms offer some marketing tools, but Kajabi has more.

Kajabi provides email marketing, coupons, landing pages, and sales funnels. These are all powerful tools that can help increase your course sales.

On the other hand, Ruzuku doesn’t have an email marketing tool and funnel builder. It only provides a sales page and coupons to its users.

Let’s check these marketing features to give you an idea of their purpose.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is a great way to reach more prospects, build relationships and promote your courses.

With Kajabi, you can send automated emails to your list of subscribers. You can also segment your list to send more personalized emails.

email marketing

Kajabi also allows you to create beautiful emails without needing HTML coding.

kajabi emails

You can easily choose from the available templates, edit them using the drag and drop editor, and schedule or send them immediately.

Funnels

A sales funnel is a process your leads or students go through from the time they find out your offer to the moment they follow your call to action (CTA.)

Kajabi offers different types of customizable funnel blueprints that you can use.

funnels

For example, if you want to drive your leads to your sales page and eventually make them buy your online courses, you can use the “Sales Page” blueprint.

sales page funnel

If you want to get more attendees for your upcoming webinar, then you can use the “Zoom Webinar” funnel.

These funnels make marketing easier as you don’t need to build your process manually, and you can also edit them to match your goals.

Coupons

Giving enticing discounts can encourage your prospects to purchase your course. Fortunately, it’s easy to offer coupons on both platforms.

Ruzuku and Kajabi let you provide either a percent off or a fixed amount discount. You can also put an expiration date to build a sense of urgency.

new coupons

The difference is that Kajabi allows you to create bulk codes where you can generate a list of codes simultaneously. This is helpful when you need to give away course coupons at events or when you’re running a promotion.

coupon codes

With Ruzuku, on the other hand, you need to create each code one by one. However, you can limit the available number of that coupon code.

Landing Pages

The most common landing pages are sales pages designed to get people to buy your product or service.

Kajabi and Ruzuku allow you to create a sales page. However, Ruzuku’s sales page builder is pretty simple, and you’ll need some coding experience to create a better landing page.

digital marketing 101

Kajabi, on the other hand, has a solid landing page builder that lets you create beautiful and conversion-optimized pages without having to code.

customized optimized pages

In addition, it provides different templates for various types of pages. So besides sales pages, you can also make thank you pages, podcasts, opt-in, coming soon, and more.

Sales

When it comes to the selling part, you won’t have issues on any of the platforms. They offer different payment options, such as free, multiple, subscription, or one-time.

You can also accept multiple currencies, create upsells, and receive payments through PayPal and Stripe.

I can say that delivering your products from Kajabi and Ruzuku is smooth and hassle-free.

Integrations

Kajabi offers more integration than Ruzuku. It has a total of 12 native integrations, which includes some email marketing and analytics tool.

integrations

If you need to connect more third-party applications, you can simply connect your Kajabi account to Zapier. Then integrate it into over 5,000 apps.

kajabi apps

Ruzuku only allows integration to Mailchimp, Stripe, and PayPal. It’s not a good option if you want to streamline your workflow.

Customer Support

For customer support, Ruzuku and Kajabi offer 24/7 email support and resources to help you troubleshoot any issues.

Kajabi also offers 24/7 live chat, which is convenient when you need an immediate response to your questions. The platform also has Kajabi Access, which provides one-on-one guidance to its users.

customer support

In contrast, Ruzuku provides telephone support, but you’ll need to book in advance so they can accommodate you.

Pricing

ruzuku pricing

Ruzuku has three pricing plans:

  • Bootstrapper – $99/month
  • Up-and-Comer – $149/month
  • University – $199/month

As mentioned above, Ruzuku offers a more affordable basic plan than Kajabi. The problem is that not all features are available on this plan. You can’t create unlimited webinars, quizzes, and polls. In addition, subscription and payment plans aren’t available.

If you want access to all the features, you’ll have to sign up for Up-and-Comer, which is at the same price as Kajabi’s basic plan.

Another advantage of Ruzuku is that you can get a better annual discount than Kajabi. Depending on your chosen plan, it offers a 24% to 44% discount.

Kajabi also has three pricing plans:

kajabi pricing table

Editor’s Note: Kajabi introduced the Kickstarter plan, which now starts at $69/month – check it out here.

  • Kickstarter – $69/month
  • Basic – $149/month
  • Growth – $199/month
  • Pro – $339/month

All basic features you need are available on the Basic plan, such as the email marketing function, website builder, landing pages, etc.

The significant differences between the plans are the number of admin users, products and funnels you can create, and the contacts you can accommodate.

If you want to save money, you can go for the annual billing and get 20% off from all the plans.

Kajabi vs. Ruzuku: Final Verdict

Both online course platforms deliver well in terms of course creation and selling features. If that’s the only thing you need, you can go for either Ruzuku or Kajabi.

However, if you’re aiming for an all-in-one platform, then I recommend going with Kajabi. It offers more features that are necessary for business growth.

In addition to that, their prices aren’t that far apart. Kajabi may seem more expensive than Ruzuku, but it’s cheaper if you look at what you can get from it.

With Ruzuku, you’ll need to invest in other software to create a website, build a good landing page, get leads through email marketing, and more.

Kajabi, on the other hand, has it all under one platform. As a course creator and business owner, this is more efficient and cost-effective in the long run.
