Kajabi is the most premium all-in-one course platform in the industry that offers you everything you need to market and sell online courses, a membership site, or products. It’s designed to give you all the course creation & sales and marketing tools for your online business with an ease of use that’s second to none.
With 50,000+ users who’ve made over a combined total of 1.5 billion dollars in sales, chances are you’ve heard of Kajabi through word of mouth or on the web.
It’s one of the premium all-in-one online course platforms on the market for building and selling courses and memberships. As you’ll see in this Kajabi review, Kajabi defeats many of its competitors with its front-end & back-end site design customizations and marketing features.
Yet, with premium features all under one roof comes premium pricing. Will you need all of the tools Kajabi provides? Can you customize the look and feel of course delivery with Kajabi? Are their sales & marketing features up to snuff?
These questions and more will be answered in this review so you can ultimately decide if Kajabi is a fit for you. Along the way, I’ll share my experiences building & selling courses, pros, cons, how they could improve features, and more.

What is Kajabi?
Kajabi is one of the best platforms online entrepreneurs use to create & sell online courses, run a membership site, email market, & more. It’s not a marketplace like Udemy.
With Kajabi, you have complete control over your course pricing, student data, and other important data sets.
The Kajabi platform offers the ability to host online courses and/or digital products and deliver your content to your customers (students) in a streamlined manner.
What makes Kajabi different from other online course platforms is that you can run your entire business on the platform. You can create a front-end website for your business, create a blog, build marketing funnels, automation, and set up email marketing campaigns as well.
Competing online course platforms have limitations with front-end website design and sales funnel capabilities.
Kajabi markets itself as an all-in-one course platform meant to REPLACE tools like:

And believe it or not, they do a pretty good job at it, as you’ll soon see. Check out their video before you continue.
To summarize, here are things Kajabi does that creators love:

Thousands of creators use Kajabi, including big names such as Brendon Burchard, Amy Porterfield, and Billy Gene.
Course Creation & Student Engagement
An online course learning experience is essential if selling courses for the long-term is important to you. Kajabi has certain features in its toolbelt to help make your online courses the best experience possible.
This section evaluates how Kajabi handles course creation for creators and how it handles, creating a professional learning experience for students.
Course Content Uploading & Organizing Structure
Kajabi makes uploading course content and organizing your lessons simple with their feature Product Blueprints, which are pre-made and ready-to-go courses built-out for you on Kajabi.
Note: Although you can start with a Blank slate, typically using one of the Product Blueprints to start is the road of least resistance.
When you generate a blueprint, Kajabi will build a sample course structure organized by Categories and Posts by default.
If you’re familiar with online courses, in Kajabi, Categories can be considered “Modules,” and Posts can be regarded as “Lessons.” Your information content and media go in Posts, while Categories are for organizing your course curriculum structure.
Furthermore, if you have an in-depth course with multiple topics, Kajabi provides Subcategories for further organization.
With Kajabi’s easy to use course builder, you can re-organize with drag-and-drop functionality, add, or subtract from your course curriculum.
Adding lesson content to Posts is a breeze too. You click on the Post you want to edit, and you’ll be taken to its respective edit screen.
Here you can change the name of the lesson (Post), add videos, assessments, information text content, PDFs, other downloadable files, and more.
Cool fact, Kajabi hosts all your video media on Wistia, the gold standard of video course hosting platforms. Students will be able to see the sub-sections of videos, speed up (or slow down) the video’s speed, and more.
A small issue some Kajabi reviews have pointed out is that you can’t add multiple videos to one particular lesson at a time. This is true.
However, what you can do, and what I’ve seen others do, is embed a video within the body text content editor of the Post lesson (which requires knowledge of video embedding).
While we’re covering video media, if your online course has a lot of video content, Kajabi has a bulk import feature.
You can import multiple videos from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or via a link.
Lastly, Kajabi lets you send push notifications to your students when you add a new lesson to your course!
In summary, Kajabi makes uploading content and organizing online course content headache-free and straightforward. This is one of Kajabi’s biggest strengths and why people use Kajabi.
Look, Feel, & Content Delivery
Aside from the content uploading and structuring, the initial course dashboard experience is your students’ first impression of whether they made the right decision or not investing in your course or product.
Your typical course platforms usually offer one theme for their course member dashboard — Kajabi gives you 10+ themes to choose from.
What’s more, Kajabi has themes based on the different types of products you can sell online. For instance, they offer themes based on traditional courses, membership sites, coaching, and more. You get your pick of themes that meet the look, feel, and requirements of your product.
Like a traditional website theme, Kajabi themes allow you to streamline your course’s look quickly with the ability to customize it.
There hasn’t been an official poll on this, but the most commonly used and favorite theme by Kajabi users is the Premier theme. If you’ve taken a few online courses before, chances are you’ve encountered this theme.
The Premier theme looks clean, professional, elegant, and has multiple options for course thumbnails, seamless course continuation, and branding.
The Premier theme lesson pages are structured similarly.
As you can see, this theme’s lesson page provides areas for your:
- Video playlist (next lessons playlist)
- Content area below video section
- A sidebar for downloadable files (not shown in the example image above)
- An Instructor box (optional)
- A comment section for student &/or instructor interaction (not seen in the image above)
Possibly the second most used Kajabi theme is the Momentum theme. Its design is similar to that of Kajabi’s competitors (more on this later) and has a more traditional online course look with the module & lesson navigation on the left and the content on the right.
You can’t go wrong with any of the Kajabi themes. They were professionally designed and are mobile-friendly, so your student can take your course with them on the go.
Additionally, Kajabi offers a free mobile app. The Kajabi mobile app works for both iPhones and Android devices, which adds to the experience.
The content delivery experience options Kajabi provides are currently unmatched in the industry — big kudos here.
Below every Kajabi lesson, you have a comment section that students can use to ask questions and talk amongst each other. (You can turn these off if necessary).
Comment sections are pretty standard, but Kajabi takes it up a notch by offering their Community feature. The Kajabi Community feature is similar to having a forum on your site.
Your Community can be offered alongside your course or as its own product. A popular course selling strategy I’ve seen lately is offering the front-end product and upselling a forum community for a yearly subscription. It’s nice to know you can do this all within Kajabi.
Students can engage on existing topics like traditional forums or start new discussions within the Kajabi dashboard (or mobile app).
And of course, Kajabi notifies students when an instructor or fellow student responds to said forum activity they engaged in.
The Community feature by Kajabi is excellent for infopreneurs who prefer to stay away from Facebook groups.
Drip & Locking Course Content
If you’ve ever wanted to set up course compliance and strategically boost student engagement, then you need to have drip and content locking, or guarding, features.
Like most platforms, Kajabi offers drip content. It lets you choose how many days after a student’s enrollment date, a new category should be released. Once set up (it’s easy to create), this is all done on autopilot.
Content locking is another feature that ensures students are paying attention to what you’re teaching and are not just going through the motions.
Essentially, you’re guarding students against skipping from Module 1 to Module 2. Kajabi won’t let them watch Module 2 lessons until they’ve fully watched the lessons in Module 1. You can set this up for particular lessons only, more than one, it’s up to you!
Moreover, instead of requiring specific lesson consumption, you can require your students to take a quiz (an Assessment in Kajabi) before moving on to the next module.
Kajabi does content locking and dripping very well, and as you’d expect, they’re easy to create and implement.
Quizzes & Certificates
Old-school education included quizzes and tests. Kajabi lets you offer these as well with their Assessment feature.
You can use Assessments to create quizzes or tests that have:
- Paragraph-answer questions,
And, of course, you’re able to grade them automatically based on your answer criteria.
Quizzes are easy to create, and you can add them to any part of your curriculum.
Kajabi users love Assessment flexibility as they’re not only used for quizzes to test comprehension.
You can also create assessments that accept File Uploads. This comes in handy if you want your students to submit a project (i.e., an essay submission).
Additionally, you can use Assessments to take surveys of your students to gather feedback from your course instead of relying on a 3rd-party tool like SurveyMonkey.
The great thing about Assessments is that you can use them on your Kajabi landing pages.
For example, when visitors take your quiz on one of your landing pages (they can be cold leads or existing students), you can segment them on your email list based on their responses.
Pretty cool, right? Yup, but Kajabi’s Assessment feature does have some limitations and can be improved.
Here are the current limitations:
- No ability to set time limits on Assessments making it less ideal for traditional testing practices.
- You can’t bulk import questions from a CSV file.
- No question library feature.
- No ability to offer certifications natively yet. You’d have to rely on Accredible or another certification service.

Kajabi Automation Triggers
Kajabi automation triggers are ideal for creators who want to engage with their students when they take action on specific activities or when they’re inactive.
Automation triggers allow you to create When & Then Rules. For example, when a student has been inactive for 7 days post-purchase, then send them an email to check in on them.
Another example of an automated trigger is offering a cheat sheet after students have finished a challenging module. You can get creative and helpful with Kajabi automation.
Course Creation Features Summary
Kajabi does a fantastic job at course creation and leaves you with a digital product you can be proud of.
Whether you’re looking to host your course or create a membership site with Kajabi, it gives you all the essential engagement tools necessary for you and your students to have involvement.
The Kajabi highlight features in this section are:
- Your courses’ look and feel: with over 10+ website themes to choose from, you can provide a unique yet elegant experience.
- The Community feature: offering a community forum is great as an add-on or its standalone product if you want to increase revenue.
- Automation triggers for maximum engagement: Kajabi automation lets you configure your students learning path depending on When & Then trigger rules.
The only limitation Kajabi currently lacks is the ability to offer completion certifications natively. And their Assessment feature doesn’t have time limits.
Other than that, Kajabi packs major features for building course architecture, uniqueness, and engagement tools for both courses and membership websites.
Site Design & Customization
Having a website for your company’s brand is essential in 2022. I’m not talking about your course website, but your front-facing website, where visitors can check out your company, info, your story, products & services, blog posts, and more.
Kajabi gives you the capability of designing a front-end site for your brand. It’s one of their many all-in-one features. In this part of our Kajabi review, we’ll evaluate how Kajabi handles site design and customization.
Just like Kajabi’s course site themes, Kajabi also offers front-end pre-designed website themes. Your site theme will give the framework and style of your website.
Kajabi has 10+ Legacy website themes, but they’re now archived and are no longer being improved. And although you can still use them, they’ve moved on to improved themes they now call Layout Presets.
These new themes are built on the Premier framework and provide a clean and modern look no matter which style you choose.
When you install a Preset, Kajabi builds out your website’s framework, and you’re able to customize it with their page editor.
The new Presets look great, and most people will gladly use them, but there is room for the Kajabi team to design more options. Because compared to website platforms like WordPress, which has countless paid and free themes, Kajabi falls a bit behind here.
I’m sure other users would love to see more free options and paid theme/Preset options.
That said, if you’re a Pro user, you can hire a web developer to create a custom Kajabi theme and import it to your account.
Kajabi Website Builder
Once you’ve chosen your site Preset/theme, you’ll be able to customize each of your site’s pages with the Kajabi page builder.
The page builder is a standard drag-and-drop editor that’s easy to use so that you can make changes yourself.
As you can see, the left-hand side of the editor lets you pick what page level you want to edit.
Removing or adding sections is a breeze, too – as you’d expect with Kajabi. Furthermore, there are over 40 pre-designed sections for all Preset themes, and they’re all desktop and mobile responsive.
Editing elements within sections is intuitive as well. Just hover over any section of your page and click the edit button, and you’ll be able to configure said inner section settings.
If you want to add elements, that’s simple too. All your element building blocks are on the left-hand side once you’ve selected the section you want to work on.
You can add extra elements missing from pre-designed sections as you see fit.
And of course, you can see exactly what your page looks like on mobile and tablet from within the same page builder.
I like Kajabi’s page builder because it rivals other page builders like Elementor on WordPress & LeadPages, and it’s simple! For instance, you’re able to show or hide different elements on mobile and desktop easily. You can preview your site without leaving the page editor viewport.
Overall, Kajabi’s website creation features are superb. The pre-designed frameworks, Presets, shorten the time it takes to traditionally build out websites, and the editor allows for countless customizations.
In addition to your front-end website, Kajabi gives you the capability of creating a blog.
Kajabi creates a blog index page when you first start using its blog feature. Your blog index page is where your blog posts will be listed when you publish new posts. You’ll be able to customize the index page with Kajabi’s page editor.
Note: If you’ve been wondering, about Kajabi’s SEO capabilities, it does perfectly fine with search engine optimization just like any other CMS!
Once your blog index page is established, you can start writing articles. You’ll write your blog posts in their blog editor, update your thumbnail, insert media, organize with tags, optimize your SEO metadata, add an opt-in form on the sidebar, and more.
Kajabi’s blogging capabilities are decent, but they don’t rival blogging platforms such as WordPress.
However, this isn’t a big con because most Kajabi users are not trying to rank for prominent keywords on Google. For that type of blog, I recommend using WordPress.
Instead, most Kajabi users use their blogs to share current news and updates about their business or talk about topics that their users want to hear.

Having everything, including your blog, under one platform like James, is advantageous because you don’t have to manage separate online properties.
Website Creation Features Summary
With Kajabi, there’s very little friction from start to finish for web design.
For instance, you don’t have to concern yourself with installing a page building plugin, an SEO plugin, etc. (although they do have some of their own plugins). And you don’t have to deal with the hassle of configuring hosting with your domain registrar.
With Kajabi, things are simple. You pick a pre-designed theme option, Kajabi builds out the default pages of your site, and you customize the site pages to your brand messaging & content with their easy to use page builder.
Kajabi handles site design great, but there is an opportunity for them to start offering additional free and paid themes. There is also room for its blogging features to improve and rival WordPress functionality.
With those pros and cons out the way, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages as Kajabi gives you everything you need to build a great looking front-end website without having to be a tech expert.

Sales & Marketing Features
Some of Kajabi’s competitors provide you with essential sales & marketing tools; Kajabi takes the stance of giving you all the tools. No 3rd-party tools are required (unless you want them).
Their suite of tools rival those of standalone internet marketing products, but you get them all under one roof. Let’s evaluate each of Kajabi’s marketing & sales capabilities below.
Pricing Options for Offers
In Kajabi, your course pricing is referred to as an Offer.
These are easy enough to create, and you have four options for pricing: Free, One-Time Payments, Multi-Payments, and Recurring Subscriptions.
Note: you can set up multiple currency offers, and Kajabi accepts major currency options such as USD, CAD, AUD, GBP, and more.
Suppose you’re deciding on getting Kajabi for subscription charging options. In that case, you’ll be glad to know that you can set up a trial period (optional) and set your recurring charges to yearly, monthly, or weekly.
Along with your offer pricing, you’ll assign which of your Kajabi products your new customer has access to when they purchase your Offer. Additionally, you can set the time their course/product will be delivered (which is useful for pre-selling campaigns).
Kajabi is flexible when it comes to assigning products to Offers. You can assign single products or multiple within one offer. This is great for creators with numerous products as it allows for bundling products together and creating different levels of a membership website.
Lastly, if you’re a fan of offering discounts for your product, you can create single coupons or bulk coupons for your offerings.
Kajabi’s charging features for products are flexible and easy to setup. I like all the capabilities offered because it unlocks marketing creativity that can ultimately lead to more sales.
Checkout Pages & Payment Processing
By default, Kajabi creates a conversion-friendly checkout page for your product(s). Like landing pages, Kajabi gives you the ability to customize your checkout pages with their page builder. And if necessary, you’re able to embed your cart on other web pages.
You’ll be able to add multiple different elements to your checkout pages, such as logos, a video, testimonials, module & lesson details, guarantees, and similar settings & customizations.
As for the information you collect from your customer, that’s in your control too. If you’re selling digital products, you’ll typically need the same inputs (email, name, credit card details), but you can ask for an address and more if you’re selling physical goods.
Furthermore, Kajabi provides three advanced checkout features that you’d find on 3rd-party online shopping platforms:
- Cart Abandonment: send follow-up emails to people who don’t finish paying at checkout.
- Bump Offers: add an optional add-on product or service to your checkout page (i.e., yes, give me one hour of coaching for $xx.xx amount).
- 1-Click Upsells: offer an “upsell” product or service to your customer once they’ve purchased your “front-end” product with just a click of a button and quickly boost revenue.
As for Kajabi payment processing and gateways, Kajabi has integrations with Stripe and PayPal — the gold standard payment integrations and Kajabi does not take transaction fees.
Fun Fact: For those of you with subscription products, you’re going to love the Kajabi tech team. They set up Kajabi’s Offers to charge for subscriptions via PayPal (even for non-US dollars). This is unheard of on other platforms.

Other than that, Kajabi does an excellent job at setting your offer pricing just the way you want and the capabilities of designing a high-converting checkout page.
Marketing Campaigns & Funnels
Have you ever used a sales funnel software like Clickfunnels? Where you can start from a pre-designed funnel with all the steps mapped and built-out for you?
Kajabi is one of the few e-learning platforms that have such capabilities. They call it their Sales Pipeline Builder, and it provides you with multiple funnel templates/blueprints based on your campaign.
Whichever blueprint you select, Kajabi will build out the required pages to create a funnel for said conversion goal.
For instance, if you want to register people for a webinar you’re hosting at the end of the month, you can select the Zoom Webinar OVO blueprint, and Kajabi outlines the funnel.
Amazingly enough, Kajabi creates each of the required landing pages and gives you the ability to edit them to your liking. This is the power of using Kajabi Pipelines!
In addition to landing pages, Kajabi will build out email campaigns, forms, offers, and it’s all plug-and-chug from there. If you prefer to add more landing pages and/or emails to your funnel, you can, of course, do it easily.
What’s more, is you never have to leave the Sales Pipeline Builder to edit your funnel steps — you can build it all without traversing to different sections of the dashboard.
The Sales Pipeline Builder is fantastic, but you can also build landing pages by individually if you’d like to.
Kajabi has over 20 landing page templates in their arsenal, and you can customize them to your liking with their editor too.
Most of the time, people use Kajabi pages to build a standalone lead generation page or sales page. Optin lead forms or sales forms can be embedded on landing pages and blog posts and can be used in popups.
We covered a lot in this sub-section, and as you can see, Kajabi covers a lot of ground, leaving many of its competitors in the dust in this department.
Email Marketing Tools
Most platforms offer the ability to send off broadcast emails to your students, but with Kajabi’s email marketing tools, you get an advanced tool that rivals other email services out there.
Here are a few things Kajabi’s built-in email tool can do:
- Tag & segment.
- Email automation.
- Send broadcast emails to new leads and current members.
- Create automated email sequences.
- Send discount codes to new subscribers.
Let’s start with tags, segmenting, and email automation. Here’s an example.
Note: if you know about tagging and email automation, feel free to skip this example.
When you get a new subscriber on your list because of a lead magnet, you can configure Kajabi’s email automation to tag them with a label (i.e., X Lead Magnet Subscriber).
Furthermore, when they purchase your digital product, you can set up an automation workflow that tags that subscriber with the label X product customer.
Kajabi infopreneurs commonly use the scenario above because it allows for effective email campaigns and keeps your list members happy.
Here’s another. Imagine you created a Kajabi email sequence, with 7 emails spread out over two weeks when someone signs up for your lead magnet.
The email sequence’s goal is to nurture your new leads and get them to buy your course. They buy your product on email #2. Should this new customer continue to get emails #3-7?
No. If they’ve already purchased your course on email #2, you’d want an automation that takes that new customer out of your email sequence when they’re tagged with a customer tag label.
You can put those new customers into a new sequence — for instance, an “onboarding sequence,” but you’d need automation for that :). If they never purchase your offer, you can segment them into another sequence as well.
Luckily, Kajabi makes it easy for even the least tech-savvy among us to do advanced email marketing.
Also, if you like pre-designed templates, Kajabi has beautiful email templates that will make your emails look like they were professionally designed!
Kajabi’s email tool is not perfect; as I’ve noticed, you can not set sequences to send out a few hours after one another — for now, it’s only possible to separate email sends with days.
Some people prefer 3rd-party tools even though Kajabi has equivalent ones. And that’s perfectly okay!
Besides Google Analytics, your Facebook pixel, and tracking software like Segment, you can connect to your favorite email service providers (ESPs).
Kajabi has direct integrations with the following ESPs:
If your ESP or tool of choice isn’t listed above, you’ll have to rely on Zapier to fulfill the integration. It’s not ideal, but it’s the only option you have for now — I’d love to see them add direct integrations with a lot more services since Kajabi’s been around for years!
If you’d like other internet marketers, influencers, or even your students to help you promote your course in exchange for a commission percentage of the sale, you can do it with Kajabi!
Kajabi will automatically create an affiliate registration & login page for your affiliate program. Once your affiliates are in their private dashboard, they’ll have access to their unique affiliate link(s) for your respective product(s).
On your end of things, you’ll be able to see which of your affiliates are performing best, change commission percentages, and send them payments.
There are a few improvements I’d like to see Kajabi’s affiliate program improve on (even on their own affiliate program).
For one, Kajabi does not provide affiliate tracking IDs so the affiliate can track where their sales are coming from. Secondly, you can’t change the 30-day cookie duration. Finally, you’re not able to upload digital assets such as logos, swipe files, banners, etc.
Sales & Marketing Features Summary
Kajabi has very little competition when it comes to sales and marketing features. It’s the only platform with the Sales Pipeline Builder, capable of building a lead-generation funnel to a sales funnel and everything in between.
Their built-in email marketing tool isn’t limited to contacting your students but also to your new email subscribers, which isn’t possible with other teaching platforms.
Additionally, you have modern email features such as automation triggers, tagging, & segmenting capabilities that make your email campaigns more effective.
Kajabi is hands down the leader in this department, and they know it — which is why they charge a pretty penny — more on this soon.
Reporting & Admin Management
Since Kajabi handles a lot of your online marketing and content hosting, there are many things to keep track of and manage.
How many website visits, sign up for your freebie, purchase your courses and/or membership sites, and how your students progress through your courses are just a few analytics that comes to mind.
And then there’s the internal management of students and people on your team. How does all this work? Let’s dive in.
Analytics & Reporting Tools
Kajabi provides internal website analytics such as page views, email list opt-ins, pages that generated sales, affiliate sales, and more.
If you’re planning on selling a membership subscription, you’ll be happy to know that Kajabi also reports on important subscription KPIs such as:
- Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR),
- Churn Rate, &
- Lifetime Value of a Customer.
As you can see from the screenshot below, you can see an overview report of your revenue & purchases and drill-down to specific reports.
I like that Kajabi’s reports provide a lot of information without them looking too convoluted. You can filter down by offer, dates and see your revenue & refunds by offer.
As for course reporting, Kajabi tracks your students’ progress in the course, individual video performance, and Assessment scores.
Student progress can be analyzed at the Member level or the Post (lesson) level.
Video analytics with Kajabi is pretty awesome because you get an in-depth breakdown of which video lessons perform best and how you can improve them.
Video metrics include average engagement, total plays, and play rate. Visual video analytics include an engagement viewer and video heatmaps.
Since Kajabi handles a lot of analytic, you currently have to traverse through different dashboard sections to get insights into your metrics. In a perfect world, Kajabi would have a menu item in their dashboards called Analytics, leading to all the reports in your account.
You can think of Kajabi’s People section of their dashboard as your contact/customer list. People is where you can manage new and existing members of your Kajabi account.
If you’re coming from another platform, you can bulk import your contact list to Kajabi and your imported contacts tags so they can have access to certain products on your Kajabi account.
Managing your member list is simple with Kajabi’s filters. You can segment your list down to people who’ve purchased X offer, an engaged member but who aren’t customers yet, used a coupon, etc.
This is the same part of Kajabi you’d use to revoke access from bad actors and add people manually to specific offers.
Furthermore, you can see each member’s lifetime value and cycle by clicking on any member.
You’ll see how they first subscribed to your email list, what messages were opened, when they made a purchase, how much they spent, how many products they purchased, and a lot more.
If you’re not a “one-person band” or don’t plan to be one soon, you’ll be happy to know that you can add administrator roles to your Kajabi account.
Whether you have a long-time team member or you’re hiring a virtual assistant for the first time, you’ll be able to choose the right user role and privileges for said person.
Kajabi has three user role types:
- Administrators have the same permissions and view as the owner, with the exception of the internal Stripe connection & other payment gateways.
- Assistants have permission to delete and modify site content, but they’re not allowed to view financial reports and most of the analytics.
- Support Specialists are only able to moderate comments and manage the People section of Kajabi.
Customer Support & Training
One of the standout features Kajabi has is its 24/7 live chat support. Most of Kajabi’s competition doesn’t offer 24/7 support.
Although Kajabi is easy to use, sometimes you can get stuck. Whether you’re stuck on a specific part of your front-end or back-end website, member management, etc., it’s good knowing your platform has your back any time of the day with their customer support.
Furthermore, Kajabi has a thorough knowledge base of support articles that teach you how to handle any part of your business step by step with video walkthroughs.
You can also use Kajabi’s official Facebook group to get support from fellow users on how to use Kajabi. It’s a group of 22,000 and growing.
As for Kajabi training, they have you covered too. They offer Kajabi Hero University and Kajabi University, which teach you the fundamentals of building a course.
Additionally, Kajabi offers a Hero reward system to incentivize Kajabi users to continue selling courses and increasing revenue.
Think of it as milestones. When you cross the $1k, $10k, $50k mark, and so on, you’ll get a reward. The rewards range from #KajabiHero t-shirts to AirPods.
As you can see, Kajabi is there for its users and wants to see them succeed. And if you ever need expert help, hire a Kajabi expert or consultant.
How Much Does Kajabi Cost?
Kajabi pricing plans are known for being a bit steep, yet you get what you pay for with course platforms.
Kajabi offers three pricing plans as of 2022, and they all include the following:
- Unlimited Landing Pages
- Unlimited Marketing Emails
- Video Hosting by Wistia
- 0% transaction Fees
The first Kajabi plan, the Basic Plan, starts at $149 per month. The Basic Plan allows you to have up to 3 Products, 3 Pipelines (sales funnels), 1 website, and 1 admin user. Additionally, you’re limited to 10,000 contacts and 1,000 active members.
The mid-tier plan is called the Growth Plan and costs $199 per month. The Growth Plan allows you to have up to 15 Products, 15 Pipelines (sales funnels), 1 website, and 10 admin user. You’re limited to 25,000 contacts and 10,000 active members.
Additionally, you get 3 new features not offered with the Basic Plan. With the Growth plan, you can have an affiliate program for your courses, remove Kajabi branding from your end-user experience, and have 24/7 customer service support.
The costliest Kajabi pricing plan is the Pro Plan, which costs $399 per month. This Kajabi pricing plan is usually overkill for most small business course creators as it only increases the limits of the Growth Plan. But, if your organization needs to offer multiple courses, then the Pro Plan is for you.

Unfortunately, Kajabi doesn’t offer a free plan; however, it does provide a free trial for any plan, so you can test drive if Kajabi is the right online course platform for you. Typically, a Kajabi free trial lasts 14 days; you can get a 28-day free trial instead by signing up for the Kajabi Hero Challenge.

Pros – What I Like About Kajabi

- Automation: Allows for simple automation rules such as triggering marketing emails based on student engagement, completion, free trial notices, etc.
- Custom Domain (or Subdomain): Aside from customizing and hosting your courses, Kajabi lets you assign the domain you want to continue building your brand presence.
- Engagement Tools: You get powerful engagement tools like Community, which is similar to a classic forum (can be sold as an upsell), Assessments, and more.
- Mobile Apps: Has both an iOS and Android app.
- Amazing Customer Support (24/7): Not many online course platforms offer this level of chat and email support.
Cons – What I Dislike About Kajabi
- No Native Certificates: You’ll have to resort to a third-party tool, Accredible, to offer completion certificates.
- Pricing: Kajabi costs are higher than other course platforms (I’ll cover whether the steep prices are justified in the next section).
Kajabi Review – Is it Ultimately Worth Paying For?
Kajabi is one of, if not the best, all-in-one platform for creating and selling courses and memberships. The course creation process is incredibly intuitive, and the professional look of the courses you create makes your course look like a pro course designer created it.
The course delivery is standard, but it also has a few bells and whistles other competitors don’t have. Kajabi partners with Wistia for video hosting; you can create student quizzes, drip your content at desired times & dates, and more.
Kajabi separates itself from other competitors by offering over 10+ course themes, the ability to create a forum community, having a mobile app for both iOS and Android users, and full control over students’ learning path.
Furthermore, it’s a platform you can run an entire online business on. Its native features let you create a front-facing website for your site, a blog, create landing pages, sales funnels that convert website visitors into paying customers and create automated email sequences & broadcasts.
The cost of Kajabi can be daunting for some, but it’s justifiable.
Take, for instance, a typical course creator who uses multiple tools for their business (having various software work together is often referred to as a “tech stack”).
A typical tech stack alternative to Kajabi would look like this:
- Teachable for course hosting & delivery: $99/month
- Website Hosting & Plugins decent host for front-end brand website & blog: $25+/month
- ClickFunnels for sales funnels: $97/month
- ConvertKit for email marketing: $29+/month
This example tech stack has already added up to $250 per month, whereas Kajabi offers all the tools above on its Basic Plan for $149 per month!

With that said, it doesn’t have 100% sales funnel capabilities. For instance, you can’t build a landing page created for lead-generation with Teachable.

Kajabi vs Thinkific
Another grand competitor to both Kajabi and Teachable is Thinkific.
Thinkific course creating features stand toe to toe with Kajabi in some regards and falls short in others. For instance, Thinkific provides all the course creating features Kajabi provides, including a native community area; however, Thinkific is known for offering more advanced quizzes.
Unfortunately, unlike Kajabi and Teachable, Thinkific doesn’t offer a mobile app.
As for designing your business website, Thinkific does an excellent job with its robust website builder and provides multiple website themes to choose from.
But, Thinkific’s biggest weakness and the reason many people switch away from it is the lack of modern sales and marketing feature capabilities.
Sure, you can create a standard checkout page and upsell page, but they’re not conversion-friendly, and they look outdated.
To put it simply, if you just need a platform to host and deliver your course while integrating third-party marketing tools to handle your conversion-friendly checkout page and sales pages, then Thinkific may be for you.
However, if you’re looking for a well-rounded platform that can host your information content and help sell courses effectively, go with Kajabi or another alternative.

Kajabi vs Kartra
A different type of Kajabi competitor is Kartra, which is known for making sales funnels and selling all online products (not just courses).
Based on its sales funnel and marketing features alone, Karta does an excellent job. It has a page & funnel builder, website drag and drop editor, checkout system, and more.

Although you can build websites on Karta, it falls short as it doesn’t offer website themes to match your branding’s feel and look. Their blogging capabilities are also a bit lackluster.
For course creation, Kartra does a fair job, but it’s nothing to write home about. You can tell that Karta’s focus isn’t solely on making the best membership builder feature possible.
They host your video and text-based content, with account data limitations on their Starter level, and guard your content with membership protection.
Karta falls behind Kajabi because they don’t offer assignments, quizzes, a students complete notification, or community building features.
They handle the basic features, but if you’re looking for advanced engagement features for your students, it’s better to use Kajabi. If you’re looking for a marketing platform separate from what Kajabi offers, check out Karta.
Katra is similar to other sales and marketing platforms, like Clickfunnels, that provide a solution for everything in your online business. Kajabi tries to do the same, but in their way, which is more focused on course sellers.
