Clickfunnels Review (2024): Pros, Cons, & Everything You Need to Know Before Investing In It

Clickfunnels Review

Clickfunnels is an all-in-one set of online marketing tools that saves users time when building marketing funnels. If you build funnels or want to sell products online, read our honest review.

Pricing: The price tag is a bit expensive, starting at $97/m, yet it’s justifiable.
Effectiveness: Their software has a proven track record for leads & sales.
Ease of Use: The easiest platform in the market to create A-Z sales funnels.
Support: Chat & email is available and keeps improving each year.

Wow, writing this review has been a long time coming. I started my free trial and Clickfunnels account a few years ago. Back then, I didn’t have much experience, so I felt like my review wouldn’t hold much weight!

However, after using Clickfunnels, I now have enough experience to share what I really think about it.

I have some strong opinions on Clickfunnels, and I’m a fan, but I won’t go as far as to say it’s the best thing since sliced bread like some Clickfunnel reviews. That said, it does have one of the heftiest drag-and-drop editor and funnel-builder tools on the internet today (more on this soon).

It’s got a long way to go until it reaches G.O.A.T. status (who knows if it ever will), but it does have its uses.

In my experience, Clickfunnels is a powerful software capable of creating impressive landing pages, squeeze pages, sales pages, upsells, bump offers, and is for good marketing automation.

Personally, I use Clickfunnels to generate leads with squeeze pages (and sometimes sales funnels – depending on the client work). My traffic choice when using funnels is paid traffic over free traffic.

Sure some Clickfunnels users are bloggers and affiliate SEOs, but chances are they’re not using it to build out their websites or landing pages.

There are better page builders and checkout page tools than Clickfunnels for WordPress website users (you’ll see why towards the end of this review).

But, don’t let that deter you as Clickfunnels has its advantages – otherwise, it wouldn’t be growing in members every year.

Enough with the intro. Here’s what’s in store for you in our Clickfunnels review:

  • Exactly what you get with each plan
  • Examples on how it’s used
  • The pricing options
  • The standard and advanced features explained
  • Pros and cons
  • If it’s worth it for you and your business

We got a lot of ground to cover, so let’s start.

What Is Clickfunnels?

In short, Clickfunnels is a marketing funnel software used by thousands of internet marketers to sell products and services online. Its popularity is built on the unique selling proposition: using Clickfunnels is the best & easiest way to create effective sales funnels.

Clickfunnels was launched back in 2014 by the company’s founders, Russell Brunson and co-founder Todd Dickerson.

Russell’s popularity rose in direct proportion to the success of Clickfunnels (not to mention his net worth) because he was the face of the company and introduced the concept of sales funnels to the internet in a way no one had ever done before.

Russell also wrote several bestselling books. Two of his most famous books to date are DotCom Secrets, a book on understanding how to make money online with funnels & the “value ladder,” and Expert Secrets, which is more of the inner game of online marketing (some marketing gurus have taken advantage of the marketing game revealed here).

Before Clickfunnels and becoming a bestselling author, Russell Brunson had several entrepreneurial ventures. An early one included selling how to make potato guns DVDs via an online sales funnel.

A feat that was far more challenging before the Clickfunnels era because back then, it was about gluing different software together and, at times, coding skills…

These technical obstacles lead to the reason why Clickfunnels was created in the first place. It was to help him and his team create funnels faster and less expensively (coders & integrations specialists cost a pretty penny) for different marketplaces.

How Do Sales Funnels Work? And What Is A Click Funnel?

If you don’t fully grasp what an online marketing funnel is yet, let me clarify the concept for you before moving forward (it’s important if you’re considering investing in such an online marketing tool).

Recall the first time you made a purchase and got “upsold” (in-person). You most likely went through a sales funnel, and the sales agent guided you down through the funnel.

This could’ve been when you went to your dealership to shop for a car and got the upgrades (i.e., the leather seats, sunroof, and all the bells & whistles) after you purchased the front-end product. If you purchased the upgrades, you got “upsold.”

You may have also experienced a funnel when you last went through a drive-thru, and the employee asked you, “do you want fries with that?” or something related.

These are just two examples of “real-life” sales funnels – the sales process is pretty much the same online.

In internet marketing, a sales funnel is a series of pages that guides a lead (a website visitor), or customer, to the conversion goal of the said funnel.

Here’s how a digital sales funnel would work: buying an info product on how to pass an exam in X topic for $47 and getting two upsells after making the front end purchase.

You’d make the course purchase from the sales page (the first step of the funnel), and before the online funnel redirects you to a thank you page for your order confirmation, you get taken to an upsell page (second step of the funnel).

On the upsell page, the product owner/marketer offers pre-made flashcards to help you pass the exam for an additional $47. It doesn’t matter if you say yes or no; a certain percentage of people passing through the funnel will say yes – making the sales funnel worth it.

The marketer could add an additional upsell or downsell to the funnel before he takes you to the final step, the Thank You page.

Did that example help you understand the power of sales funnels? Taking the original marketing funnel concept and adopting it in the online world so anyone could build one online was huge for the industry.

It’s why none of Russel Brunson’s competitors have come close to making their funnel building software synonymous with sales funnels… Clickfunnels = sales funnels… because they were the first to make things simple.

Clickfunnels Features

Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let’s cover some of our Clickfunnels review highlights. I want to highlight Clickfunnel’s main features (most of which we’ll cover the remaining of this review).

  • Clickfunnels is easy to learn and use (it has a small learning curve).
  • It has a good visual drag and drop editor for desktop & mobile screens.
  • The drag and drop editor is used to create all types of pages.
  • It makes setting up lead generation funnels easy, and every email address that gets captured (and other contact information) is stored in your account and your email service provider.
  • Easily create funnels and share your funnels with anyone.
  • It allows you to set up A/B testing to improve conversion rates easily.
  • You can create a membership site with a good members area user experience for people who are selling info products.
  • They offer a free 14-day trial so that you can test out their tools.
  • Their focus is to help business owners make more money by keeping things simple.

Pros – ClickFunnels Review

Let’s first cover Clickfunnels’ strengths and the reasons why most beginners to advanced online marketers use the tool.

Drag and Drop Landing Page Builder

One of the best and most important features Clickfunels offers is its drag and drop page builder. Their page builder makes it easy to customize a conversion-focused web page no matter what funnel step you’re creating.

Out of all the page builders I’ve used, Clickfunnels is an easy way to make a quick page that converts.

Whether it’s using one of their templates, saving a template for later use, or cloning a section on the page, the web developers have done an excellent job here.

A/B Testing

Split testing landing pages is straightforward in Clickfunnels. The software guides you each step of the way if you want to test two pages against each other to see which one has a better conversion rate.

Once you have a split test setup, Clickfunnels will have you choose how much traffic the control page and the variation page should receive (I usually go with 50% each).

You can test landing pages at each step of a funnel. This capability is powerful with any traffic source, but especially paid traffic, and it would cost you extra if it weren’t already built into Clickfunnels.

Helps Make You More Money

You’re going to hear me mention this a few more times throughout this Clickfunnels review article because it’s worth repeating: Clickfunnels focus is the make you, the end-user, more money in your business through sales funnels.

If you sign up for Clickfunnels, you’ll notice that the funnel building process is seamless. They make setting up your account details, your funnel content (premade funnels for different conversion goals), and payment integration simple so that you can start as quickly as possible.

Sales funnels can be complicated and take a while to learn, but Clickfunnels takes 1-4 hours to learn versus days of tinkering.

Lots of Integration Options

I was surprised by how many integrations Clickfunnels offers. When I was working on an email marketing campaign with a local business client who used Hubspot, I was concerned about how I would handle customers vs. non-customers.

Since Clickfunnels offers API integrations with most third-party software in the digital marketing world, you can make it work with an existing marketing stack.

Customer Service

Their customer service is good in my experience. They can answer basic and advanced technical questions as long as it is Clickfunnels related.

I’ve had great support representatives multiple times that recorded videos to explain how certain processes would work for my situation – I’ll elaborate more on a dialog session I had towards the end of this Clickfunnels review.

Customer support rating: A-.

All In One Sales Funnel Builder

Coming from a technical background, I’m not the biggest fan of all in one marketing tools, but I’ve got to give it up to the Clickfunnels marketing tool on this one.

They’ve done a great job at centralizing tools such as their drag-n-drop editor (easy to use), form submissions, checkout order forms, and email automations that trigger at certain points of the sales funnel – all in one tool.

Doing this in a web content management system (CMS), like WordPress, would require at least 3 separate tools if you’re lucky… Not to mention the time and money spent configuring these tools to create a simple funnel.

What I just described is doable for marketers who have more internet-exposure and time in the game, but they are a minor segment of Clickfunnels’ target customer base.

Anyway, the good news is that Clickfunnels is an overall hefty funnel software and was a game-changer when it first launched.

Cons – ClickFunnels Review

Even though I’m a fan, I don’t have blinders on, and the last thing I want to do in this Clickfunnels review is not to tell you the drawbacks.

Let’s begin.

The Cost

The two pricing options are $97 a month and $297 a month. Although this might seem overpriced, it’s actually competitive when compared to competitor pricing.

For instance, last year, Unbounce started at $99 a month, and they only offered a landing page builder, while Clickfunnels offered that plus cart pages, bump offers, and advanced funnel features.

For some, the cost of Clickfunnels may be a con. We’ll cover the Clickfunnels pricing in more detail in the next section.

Too Simplistic for Some People

Does Clickfunnels have the best, most advanced page builder on the market? I wish, but unfortunately not.

This is a drawback from a minor segment of Clickfunnels users, by the way, so take this con with a grain of salt.

When compared to a WordPress plugin landing page software, you can tell the difference between it and Clickfunnels.

That said, remember, Clickfunnels is not meant for techies. It’s intended for less website-savvy people, which is why the page builder is beloved (a full review on this feature is coming up below).

Simplicity works. Clickfunnels has all the tools in one place, including page templates, which is why people like myself still use it – it’s mighty quick & efficient to set up funnels.

Software Downtime

Once in a blue moon, the Clickfunnels software goes down temporarily. The downtime can range anywhere from 1-4 plus hours, and the CF community is left in uproar – and rightfully so.

Technical glitches and problems arise with any software, let alone a sales funnel software that has multiple tools bundled up together, but they’re no fun for anyone.

The worst thing that can happen is having paid traffic website visitors go to one of your funnels, and your leads can’t checkout because Clickfunnels is down (your funnel page won’t load during downtime). Again, this rarely happens.

The Cult-ure

The Clickfunnels cult-ure is not a direct con, but more of a possible indirect con towards their backend marketing.

They have an excellent marketing team that will continue pitching you helpful products (at least they think so), such as books, webinars, and the latest product from the desk of Russell Brunson.

For the uninitiated new Clickfunnels user, more marketing can be a con because it takes away focus from the business owner that’s needed to accomplish the goal of creating a sales funnel.

If you join Clickfunnels without a goal, you could easily get sucked into the hype surrounding old and new products that their team promotes. However, this is just my two cents on the matter.

Currently, Clickfunnels has three pricing plans — Clickfunnels and Clickfunnels Platinum (formerly known as the StartUp and Etison Suite, respectively). And the latest plan being the Two Comma Club X plan at $2,497! Find out more details in our ClickFunnels pricing guide.

The cheapest Clickfunnels standard plan costs $97 per month. With this plan, you get access to all the tools you need to create sales funnels with some limitations.

Those limitations are 20 funnels, 100 pages, 3 custom domains, and 20,000 visitors.

What you don’t get in the standard plan is FollowUp Funnels (previously known as Actionetics), their email autoresponder responsible for Follow-Up Funnels and Backpack, a software that lets you offer an affiliate program for your products or services.

Clickfunnels Platinum is $297 per month and unlocks FollowUp Funnels and Backpack and removes the previously stated limitations. You now get unlimited funnels, pages, and visitors. Additionally, you get unlimited custom domains instead of 3, 9 payment gateways instead of 3, priority support, and more.

A third Clickfunnels purchase option is Funnel Builder Secrets (their annual Clickfunnels pricing plan) – FBS for short.

FBS gives you 12 months of Clickfunnels Platinum for free, plus the majority of Clickfunnels’ core offers as bonuses for $2,997 (that’s $249.75/m instead of $297/m). There’s also has a 6-month option. If you want to see and learn more about it, check out our Funnel Builder Secrets review.

Such hefty prices make you wonder if there are any coupon codes available. Unfortunately, there are none. Thankfully, there’s at least a 14-day free trial to try out Clickfunnels for yourself. Check out the CF pricing tables and more by clicking the button below.

StartUp Features Overview

The Startup, $97/month plan, is best suited if you want the Clickfunnels drag and drop funnel building software.

Sure, you’re missing out on Actionetics and Backpack, but there are third-party email service providers and separate affiliate program software you can integrate with Clickfunnels.

Clickfunnels is most well known for its quick & easy sales funnel creation capabilities (more on this in the Page Builder Review section).

If you’re okay with the constraints the Startup plan comes with, this is the perfect plan to start with.

The following are the list of the StartUp features:

Platinum Features Overview

Platinum, formerly known as the Full Suite or Etison Suite option, is three products bundled up into one: Clickfunnels, Follow-Up Funnels (aka. Actionetics), and Backpack.

Since we already talked about the extras previously, I’ll take a moment to go over my thoughts on the Clickfunnels extras.

Actionetics is CF’s built-in advanced email auto-responder tool with an unlimited email list capacity.

Unlike most email autoresponders, it can be used for email campaigns, email sequences, direct mail, email series, text messages, Smart Lists, Facebook messaging, and different types of SMS messages.

Connecting with your target audience in multiple ways is possible with the Etison Suite and is great for warming up potential customers.

Backpack is CF’s built-in affiliate software to create your own private affiliate program for your products and offers. This is nice to have if you have an offer that has a track record of converting.

You can view more Clickfunnels features for both plans here. I’ll cover my recommendations on which plan is best shortly.

Funnel Builder & Page Builder Clickfunnels Review

“Is Clickfunnels easy to use?”

YES! In the eyes of many, their flagship feature is Clickfunnels itself (the easy-to-use funnel building machine), so it wouldn’t be a full Clickfunnels review without covering its ins and outs.

The funnel and marketing page software part of Clickfunnels is excellent, and it is the main reason I gave it a high rating. I have yet to come across software that can easily set up a funnel and landing pages so quickly.

What makes Clickfunnels so great when it comes to building landing pages via a funnel approach?

Let’s dive in.

Let’s say you’re a local repair shop in your city that wants to get online leads to your business.

In this situation, a conversion could count as a form submission opt-ins and/or a phone call (in either case, you’re collecting information), and you’ll want to use a Lead Generation type funnel.

Clickfunnels also makes it easy by providing pre-made funnel templates tailored to your needs:

funnels for many online business owners
A library of different types of funnels (pre-made), making it easy for anyone to get started with sales pages and more!

As you can see, it doesn’t matter what industry you’re in; Clickfunnels will guide you to the type of funnels you need based on your conversion goals. Their pre-built funnels are designed to help convert web visitors.

For those of you who are more funnel-experienced, you can always start on a blank canvas if you want to build from scratch.

I recommend browsing each of the funnels to understand how each funnel type works – Russell Brunson does a great job of explaining how they work.

Different Types of Sales Funnels Templates Included!

Whether you choose a blank funnel (pages and funnels blank) or one of the pre-designed ones, you can switch out funnel template pages later. It’s possible to request template blueprints too.

This is what the funnel-builder looks like.

drag and drop builder
All the Necessary Features In One Dashboard.

On the left-hand side, you have the funnel steps stacked on top of each other (these are drag and drop blocks, by the way). Other marketing tools don’t have this type of setup.

The goal of the steps is to “funnel” people to take a conversion goal. Each step funnels sales to the business owner’s bottom line when done correctly.

And on the right-hand side, you have the landing page associated with the selected funnel step.

To gain access to the Clickfunnels editor, you can click on the Edit Page button, and you’ll be taken to it. This is what it looks like.

make simple landing pages
Generate Leads with Funnel Templates!

Once you’re in the editor, you’ll be able to configure your landing pages just the way you want them (and with your branding if you’re using landing page templates.

From my techie standpoint, Clickfunnels has one of the most uncomplicated landing page builders in the online marketing industry.

If you’re not technical by nature, no worries, you don’t need to be. There’s a learning curve, but it’s tiny when compared to page-building software. We offer a free CF for Beginners course for our readers – you can find more info about it here.

To get you familiar with how the Clickfunnels landing page builder works, I’ll break down the rules it follows.

Note: feel free to skip this section, but you’ll eventually have to learn the rules below to build a Click Funnel.

The editor builds a page using four parts. Those are the:

  • Section
  • Rows and Columns
  • Element

For example, in the previous image, the blue background section is a Section. This section houses a Row with two Column parts (one for the left half and the right half where the form field is).

Everything you see within the two-column row are Elements (i.e., elements are things such as text elements, headline text, image, video widgets, bullet points, input forms, a progress bar, buttons, and more). The image element, by the way, is easy to use because you can simply take an image URL from anywhere on the web and have it show up instantly.

Note: It might look complicated while reading, but it truly isn’t, you just have to gain some hands-on experience using it, and you’ll notice it’s easy to use.

Customization abilities for Elements, Sections, Rows, or Columns, takes clicking on the settings cog of said part, and it’ll bring up the sidebar editor section.

Here you can customize different aspects of what you’re editing.

In the image below, you can see plenty of customizations for the form button element (such as background colors, button sales copy, adding people to a subscribers list after the button has been clicked on, and more).

Page Editor marketing software

As for your mobile responsive page, Clickfunnels handles it really well with their mobile landing page editor.

mobile optimization
Mobile Responsiveness Page Editor.

The same page builder rules apply to the mobile editor.

In the sidebar, you can hide certain elements on desktop and only show them on mobile, change font sizes, font colors, and everything you’d expect a solid page editor to do.

Clickfunnels also lets you add HTML, CSS, and Javascript code on your pages for you advanced users out there who have coding knowledge.

Once you’ve built/customized your first funnel, you can clone it and repurpose it for future projects or even share it with others using a Share Funnel URL that’s provided with pretty much any funnel types in your Clickfunnels account (share funnels are found in the settings tab of the corresponding funnel).

Clickfunnels Integrations

Once you grasp how to create and customize landing pages with the Clickfunnels page editor, you’ll need to configure your funnels with any third-party software tools you may be using.

For example, you might have a landing page that collects email addresses, but how do you have Clickfunnels feed the emails and other form inputs to your email service?

This is handled with integrations, and Clickfunnels has a lot of them! You can manage your integrations in your account settings.

Clickfunnels Integrations
The software integrates with lots of popular marketing tools.

Most of the time, it’s as easy as copy and pasting the API key from the third-party software settings to Clickfunnels integrations settings.

Ease of Use of Clickfunnels Review

Throughout this Clickfunnels review, you’ve heard me rave about how simple it is to use when compared to other software. I’m going to devote this small section to address the concern you may have.

Let’s start with what Clickfunnels states on their sales page “Quickly Create Beautiful Sales Funnels That Convert Your Visitors Into Leads And Then Customers… (Without Having to Hire or Rely On A Tech Team!).”

That headline is perfect and summarizes what Clickfunnels is all about.

However, the truth is, if you’re new to this type of software, there will be a minor learning curve, and I recommend a few things for you. For starters, get Clickfunnels and practice creating a funnel for your business (whether it be to capture leads or sell something).

This action alone will lead you down a rabbit hole full of valuable Clickfunnels how-to lessons. If you get stuck, the Clickfunnels support articles in their knowledge base (or live chat) will answer your questions (remember: you’re not the first non-tech-savvy entrepreneur that’s gone through their onboarding process).

Extra Recommendations: if you’re new to online commerce with funnels, reading Russell’s DotCom Secrets book is recommended, as it explains how funnels work hand-in-hand with your business (online/offline). Lastly, getting Clickfunnels through this page also gets you free access to our CF for Beginners bonus course.

Since we’re on the topic of ease of use, let’s quickly cover support as well.

Customer Support

For any software as a service (SaaS) tool, it’s important to know that you always have a customer support team who has your back if you ever get stuck with an internet business problem.

Their customer support comes in two forms: support articles and live chat.

The Clickfunnels support docs have a lot of the questions people have asked in the past. What I like most about them is their step-by-step approach to the questions and that most of them have how-to videos embedded in the answers!

Support system

Their live support, based in the United States, mind you, is my go-to if I ever need help with Clickfunnels.

Clickfunnels Live Chat Support

The support bot will understand my question and first suggest some documentation to help the problem I’m having. If the resources suggested don’t help, I can ask to connect to a live customer service representative. How much time you wait is determined by how busy they are on any given day.

I have nothing bad to say about Clickfunnels’ chat support except the suggestion of hiring more help team staff members like the ones I’ve experienced over the last 3 years plus.

Here’s a quick story of the best support experience I had with a GREAT Clickfunnels representative.

There was a time when I was working on a client’s Black Friday sales funnel that would be extended to Cyber Monday – it required a few Clickfunnels timer elements that would redirect customers to a new landing page at midnight (when I was out of the office) – it’s more complicated than this, but I’ll spare you further details.

The representative took the time to digest what I had described and recorded a video reply explaining exactly what I needed to do. He even checked my work when I was done (with a video reply again) and confirmed that I was in the clear for the client’s sale!

To summarize, Clickfunnels is fairly easy to get the hang of. If you’re having trouble getting started, support has your back.

Your account funnels are easy to manage (you can separate them by tag groups), building sales funnels is streamlined (especially with templates), and 3rd party integrations are simple enough to connect.

Compared to other bundled software (remember CF is at a minimum two tools in one), Clickfunnels wins the ease of use battle. You won’t be buried reading multiple support documentation and watching hours of how-to videos.

It’s worth noting that they also have an active Facebook group where you can get questions answered by veteran users too.

For these reasons, we give the Clickfunnels software tool an ease of use score of 4.5 out of 5 rating.

Is Clickfunnels the Right Choice for You?

Now that we’ve covered the main Clickfunnels features, you might be wondering, is Clickfunnels worth it?

Let me help you decide if it’s the right funnel system software for you and your business.

I’ve boiled my recommendations down to situations when I would recommend Clickfunnels and ones when I don’t – simple and easy.

Recommended IF:

  • You want a drag & drop sales funnel builder to handle your marketing campaigns

If you’re looking for a user-friendly page builder to design pages for all funnel type pages, it doesn’t get much better than using the Clickfunnels editor (minimal to no web design skills needed).

The same goes for its funnel-builder, where you can drag & drop steps exactly where you need them to go. You don’t get this type of funnel visualization in other funnel software products.

  • You want to add advanced sales funnel capabilities easily

Do you already sell a product or service online? If so, chances are putting together advanced marketing funnels was a challenge.

With Clickfunnels, you can add checkout forms to your sales page, include order bumps, add upsells or downsells after your customer has purchased your front-end product, all while building your email list (or email lists).

  • You manage multiple clients and funnel types

Are you managing Facebook and/or Google advertising for different small business owners?

If that’s the case, Clickfunnels allows an easy way to manage their funnels by group tags in their user interface. If you run an agency, sell professional services, marketing funnel strategy consults, or do management consulting, you can set up team members with their own logins.

Working with different business brands can be a hassle because of different domain name web properties and payment processors.

Clickfunnels lets you add custom domains and subdomains for your clients, as well as separate billing integration; however, you’re limited by the plan you choose.

And if you ever need to transfer a funnel to a client’s account, you can have them download the asset you made for them via a share URL.

Note: you used to be able to share funnels with non-CF users and get a $19/month plan, but this has been discontinued.

If you couldn’t tell, this is one of the main reasons why I use Clickfunnels. It’s much easier than logging into different websites for different clients, and it’s high converting for the number of page views we get.

  • You want to have all your funnel creation tools in one marketing platform

There’s not much that can beat having your core sales funnel tools under one roof. If you’re new to the funnel game, then you might find this reason hard to relate to, but hopefully, you’ll experience what I mean.

Sidenote: even though I use other tools to create landing pages (primarily WordPress website builder tools), to create sales pages & blog posts, there’s a lot less “friction” that comes with building a live sales funnel in Clickfunnels.

Not Recommended IF:

  • You want the most advanced landing page and checkout page builders

This is a no BS Clickfunnels review, so to be blunt, yes, there are better tools to create funnels, but with one major drawback. The drawback is that you have to invest in different software at each stage of the funnel and depending on the type of funnel you want to create.

Let’s take a look at how this would work (since I’ve been there)…

Let’s start with creating your funnel pages. A popular landing page builder is Thrive Architect, a WP plugin that can build advanced landing pages and gives you way more liberty when designing pages. Last I checked, this costs less than one hundred dollars for a one-time payment (for one website/domain), and you have to pay for your web hosting and learn how to use WordPress on top of that.

With me so far? Because we still need a checkout system for our customers.

Now that we have the capability of building web pages for our sales funnels, we need software like SamCart that has billing integrations with Stripe and/or PayPal, allows you to create checkout pages, has upsells, bump offers, and other tools.

SamCart starts at $99 (if you want the sales funnel capabilities that Clickfunnels offers at its $97/m plan). No worries, time to integrate your pages with SamCart (you may have to embed your checkout cart on your corresponding page).

That’s how you build sales funnels from scratch.

Are you starting to see the process of creating sales funnels without Clickfunnels? (So far, this DIY business solution costs more than the CF startup plan, and it still requires a marketing budget). It can be a nightmare if you’re not technically inclined.

PS: if your business model is about selling a training course and having a membership area, you’ll need membership software like Kajabi ($149/mo), Teachable ($39/mo), or Thinkific ($49/mo) and make sure they integrate with your website and cart platform. Clickfunnels provides membership funnels, membership areas, and membership sites in their $97/mo basic plan. See how this adds up to an equivalent time and money investment?

  • You’re not willing to invest a minimum of $97 per month

To people who gawk at how much Clickfunnels costs, please read the example I described above.

If you want to create marketing funnels, you have two options: (1) get a funnel tool like Clickfunnels or (2) have the patience to learn how to make different tools “talk to each other.”

The cost will be about the same whichever path you take; however, the time investment may not be.

Clickfunnels Review Conclusion

So, you made it by reading or by skimming to my final Clickfunnels review verdict! I’ll cut to the chase here – I recommend it, and our team uses Clickfunnels to build advertising funnels quickly and easily for local campaigns.

Understand that I’m a techy individual writing this review. Using a page editor plugin on my website and integrating it with a 3rd party shopping cart software (plus a 3rd party email marketing software) is second nature to me.

HOWEVER, this is not the case for everyone, and I get it.

This is why I recommend Clickfunnels or Clickfunnels Platinum (if you need an email autoresponder) because the software does a great job of “gluing” together all these tools under one roof.

It’s much easier to use an interconnected system than trying to make individual tools talk to each other.

This is why Clickfunnels exists – its goal is to help you make money with funnels while removing as much technical friction as possible.

To this day, I use both a WordPress website for organic traffic and Clickfunnels to create sales funnels and other types of funnel systems.

Why? Simply because you can build things quickly with Clickfunnels and be up and running faster than configuring separate tools. Small businesses have benefited from this luxury too.

This is why we use Clickfunnels for clients’ paid traffic marketing campaigns and stick to other funnel tools for free traffic.

Final thoughts: the Clickfunnels team has made a reliable software you’ll love if you’re a new online business owner or if you’ve been in business for years and are just starting to use sales funnels to sell your products and services online.

What more can I say? Clickfunnels is a great at creating funnels and an all-in-one solution. Create your first funnel today with their14-day free trial!

Clickfunnels Review FAQs

What Else Do I Need Besides Clickfunnels?

Using Clickfunnels allows you access to all the tools you need to start a business and implement a marketing strategy – especially if you get the full suite of tools. There are times when people opt to use tools in conjunction with CF (tools that CF can do, but the business owner prefers a separate tool).

Let me give you a few examples. An internet marketer selling online courses with a webinar funnel might want to use WebinarJam instead and integrate it with their webinar funnels in CF. Another product owner might want to use a platform like Teachable to create their membership sites instead of the ClickFunnels membership site system simply because of preference.

As you continue using CF, you might find there’s another product or service you’ll use alongside CF and others you don’t need.

Can I Use My Own Domain Name?

Yes. However, it’s not required to start using Clickfunnels. When you start without one, your funnel URL will, by default, include your username (which you can update). This is how it’ll look: https://userName.clickfunnels.com. CF will also add a free SSL (your URL will start with HTTPS instead of HTTP) and purchase your domain for free.

Is Clickfunnels a Scam or Legit?

Clickfunnels is not a scam or a pyramid scheme. It’s capable of increasing your customers’ average lifetime value, but at times it’s put in a bad light because of promotion.

A lot of the scammy buzz surrounding Clickfunnels comes from the affiliate community that promotes it as the perfect solution to everything online and has no flaws – all in the name of getting paid affiliate commissions. You can see plenty of them on YouTube.

This is because Clickfunnels lets just about anyone promote their products. Unfortunately, most people who promote & review Clickfunnels have never used it to start a business in e-commerce or used sales funnels to promote digital products with an email list. Thankfully, I have this experience working at a digital marketing agency for years.

Here’s some proof Clickfunnels is a legit business. It’s been operating since 2014 under the leadership of Russell Brunson, who has grown the company, and his net worth, exponentially since then. It has over 80,000 users, brand awareness with over 1 million-plus search results, and over 338,000 likes on their Facebook page.

What Is Included in Funnel Builder Secrets?

Funnel Builder Secrets is basically the annual version price of the Clickfunnels Platinum plan ($297 monthly payments). Getting FBS saves you money in the course of a year. Instead of paying 12 monthly payments of $297 (total of $3,564), you’ll pay $2997 to save a few hundred dollars.

You also get bonus training and more with this package:

  • FBS Training
  • Ladyboss Kaelin Poulin Training
  • Funnel Scripts for 1 Year
  • Traffic Secrets Course (traffic sources like SEO, advertising on social media, and other platforms are covered in this training)
  • Funnel Hacks Masterclass
  • Funnel Flix videos (includes Tony Robbins Private Collection & other Funnel Hacking Live events)

The above courses are high-ticket items sold separately and would cost a small fortune buying them individually. I especially like that they included Funnel Scripts in this as that costs $497/year.

What Is Different Between LeadPages and Clickfunnels?

LeadPages is a good Clickfunnels competitor, and there’s not too much difference except some advanced funnel elements (like bump offers and downsells) except pricing. As for sales page & funnel creation simplicity, Clickfunnels is still king. I would rate LeadPages as a #2 option after CF.

If you’re looking to create an event funnel where you’re promoting your lead magnets to get people on your email list, I recommend just going with LeadPages. Go with Clickfunnels if you need more bells and whistles.

You can read our LeadPages and Clickfunnels comparison article here.

Which Makes More Sales – SamCart or Clickfunnels?

SamCart is a shopping cart service that lets its users create checkout pages. In this regard, it’s similar to Clickfunnels. However, it can’t build landing pages that lead people to your checkout page. It’s a cart platform – albeit a good one. They offer converting checkout page templates. Most SamCart users use their website page editor to create their sales pages that lead to checkout. The pricing models of both are similar; however, CF has more to offer when compared side-by-side.

Is There Clickfunnels Training?

Yes, they have training programs if you feel like it would help! The two best training, in my opinion, is the One Funnel Away Challenge for people who want to start an online business. I’ve also heard good things about the 30-day Challenge. And the Clickfunnels Affiliate Bootcamp training is their affiliate marketing training for entrepreneurs who wish to use and promote the tool. They both contain dozens of training videos and are hosted in CF’s education management membership tool.

Does Clickfunnels Have an Affiliate Program?

Yes, they have one of the best affiliate programs with a good commission structure. You can sell Clickfunnels itself, and if you get 100 users, you can also get a “dream car,” which means an additional $500 to your existing affiliate commissions. The dream car requires you to keep above 100 users consistently. Not many affiliate programs offer this type of reward. If you’re an affiliate marketer, this affiliate program is highly recommended.

What Are Some Clickfunnels Alternatives?

Clickfunnels can cost any new entrepreneur a lot of money (starting at 97 USD). It offers a good product, but they’re not the only player in the all-in-one marketing platform industry these days.

Some top-rated Clickfunnels alternatives are Systeme, Builderall, LeadPages, Kartra, ThriveCart, Unbounce, and Instapage.

They each have a free trial, and like what Clickfunnels offers, they provide everything you need (for the most part). Please do some research and get started with one of them!

Can I Use SMTP if My Email Service Isn’t On the Integration List?

Yes. You can integrate with an SMTP service. The most common SMTP integrations used with CF are Sendgrid, Mailgun, Sparkpost, and Mandrill. Once you’re connected, you can use the Follow-Up auto-responder.

Can You Show Me a Clickfunnels Example?

I would, but you just can’t beat the Click Funnels examples on the Clickfunnels sales page. There’s a helpful quiz you can take for different funnel-type examples as well. Plus, a 14-day free trial (credit card info is required)!

Note that some of the links on this page are affiliate links & will not cost you any extra.
